how to care for silver products

All of the silver used by Domae. is made from Silver 925. The finish is polished and there is no anti-oxidation coating.

As a result, the color will darken over time due to oxidation. If you like the look, you can use it as is without polishing it and enjoy the changes over time.

If you would like your silverware to be restored to its original appearance when you purchased it, please follow the steps below.

 

Care with commercially available silver cloth and paste

domae. products can be polished with commercially available silver polishing cloths and polishing pastes. Polish according to the product's instructions, and wipe thoroughly with a dry cloth or tissue after use.

We also recommend using liquid silver polish on the chain and other fine details. Please follow the product's instructions for use, wash thoroughly with water and dry thoroughly.

 

Polishing with items found at home

・Add a few drops of water to 1 tablespoon of spoon and use the paste to polish the silver.

It takes a little patience, but it will definitely polish, so please give it a try. You may want to use more paste depending on the size of the silver.

・Put 3 tablespoons of baking soda in a cup, pour hot water (it doesn't have to be boiling water) into a piece of torn aluminum foil, place your silver item in it, and leave for 1-2 minutes to make it beautiful silver. This is a highly recommended method as it also cleans chains and other small parts.

Be careful when removing the silver from the hot water to avoid burning yourself.

Storage method

When not wearing your jewelry, we recommend storing it in an airtight container to prevent it from coming into contact with too much air. This can be in your jewelry box or a resealable bag such as a Ziploc bag.

The aluminum containers (slide or screw cases) that domae. products are delivered in can be sealed, so you can store them in these containers. Many of our products have delicate designs, so we highly recommend keeping the case in your bag when you go out or travel, so you won't lose it when you want to take them off quickly.
